YAY! It’s my favorite time of the year—SPRING!
Life doesn’t look like bottomless brunches anymore, and honestly? I’m good with that. Give me sippy cups in the grass, park dates, and trying to squeeze in all the spring fun with my little ones.
But after surviving the chaos of Q1 while juggling two kids, I knew it was time for a reset. A reset for my routine, my spaces, and—most importantly—my sanity.
I’m making it a point this season to keep things simple, stick to small changes, and finally let go of what’s not serving me.
So if you’re a mama craving less overwhelm and more ease, this one’s for you.
One Thing I’m Decluttering
Usually, I’d find time to do multiple spring cleaning and home projects. But now considering less is more in this season, I’m taking on just one decluttering project, baby and toddler clothes that don’t fit. I will be cleaning out the baby girl’s closet and all toddler clothing to Goodwill or selling them to one of our favorite thrift stores. Wow! They grow so fast. Decluttering cuts down on the chaos in their rooms. One less headache for me.
One Habit I’m Trying
Stay grounded nowadays is a must. As I’m getting back to myself postpartum, I am slowly trying to build better habits. This spring I am focusing on taking 20 min to move my body during the day. I want to be able to consistently add this to my daily routine while working from home. This shift will help boost energy levels and keep me grounded.
One Fun Thing I’m Adding to My Routine
Spring means fun, sundresses, joy, well to me! And I’m not leaving fun off the table. In order for me to feel a little saner, I will be adding some fun. Implementing once a week solo shopping runs will do the trick. I’ll grab me a caramel frappacino and be on my way. Once I finish, I’ll end my date with sitting in the car for a breather before entering the house. (Those who know, know!) Those car debriefs are just good for the soul.
One Thing I’m NOT Doing This Spring
Lastly, let me tell you what I’m not doing this Spring, I’m not saying sorry for resting. Getting rest is essential to being a happy and healthy mama. In this season, it is important that as women we prioritize not always being on the go. Hustle culture is OUT! We are Mama’s but we are not robots. In this new age where everything has be something, We have to slow, pump the brakes, and rest. I told myself I am allowed to slow down, and you are too.
Resetting doesn’t have to be a full-blown transformation. Sometimes it’s just choosing to feel 10% better—and calling that a win.
